Fire Protection

Escape routes must be kept clear at all times and the capacity of the premises must be observed. In many cases, the event service can provide information on the use of space and materials. It is advisable to keep the use of decorations and other structures to a minimum in order to avoid complications with regard to the issuance of a permit.

The following provisions apply in general:

When using decorative elements, furniture, or technology in publicly accessible areas (e.g., atrium), certain certificates (Swiss standard) must be presented.
Electrical installations and technical equipment must comply with the prescribed Swiss standard. Open flames, dangerous electrical equipment, and flammable decorations are not permitted.
The necessary documents (setup plan, materials used including associated certificates, information and samples of non-standard materials, key data of the event) must be submitted to the fire safety team in good time, ideally after the room has been reserved. (The applicable regulations can be found in the information sheets.)

  • Access and admission plan
  • People's safety: organize security for large numbers of participants or publicly known persons through Safety Team (additional costs).
  • Escape routes, fire extinguishing equipment, barriers
  • Waste concept
  • Contact list of persons involved (before/during/after the event) and emergency numbers
